New Twist on the Classic Mojito

New Twist on Classic Mojito

It’s a hot summer day, it’s a great pool part, it’s a BBQ party, or it’s just because you want something cool and refreshing.. what do you reach for? If I motivated to make a drink on days like those, I make Mojitos! But not just your standard Mojito of Rum, Lime, Sugar, and Club soda. My Mojito recipe has Margarita Mix, Rose’s Lime Juice, and a few more liquors besides the Rum. It makes a great New Twist on the Classic Mojito!

A few notes before you get started-

  • Be prepared to let it sit for a few minutes. This allows the flavors to meld together and more of the sugar to dissolve.
  • Add the Mojito mixture to the glass before the Club Soda! While the Club Soda is lighter, the mixture combines better if you pour the Club Soda on top of the Mojito mixture and doesn’t require that extra stir.
  • Feel Free to add in fresh Strawberries or Raspberries to mix it up. I muddle them with the Lime and Mint to extract the most flavor.

Ingredients

  • 18-20 Mint Leaves
  • 1-2 Limes varies depending on lime juice extracted
  • 1/4 cup Raw Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Margarita mix
  • 1/4 cup Rose's Lime Juice
  • 1/4 cup Triple Sec
  • 1/4 cup Orange Curacao
  • 1 cup Bacardi Limon use whatever rum you have on hand!
  • 1 cup Club Soda only need enough to top off the glass

Instructions

  • Muddle mint, lime juice, and sugar. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes to allow the sugar to dissolve and a strong mint flavor to develop.
  • Add the Margarita Mix, Rose's Lime Juice, Triple Sec, Orange Curacao, and Bacardi Limon and mix together. I like to walk away for another 10 minutes, as this allows the flavors to mix together more thoroughly; but you can drink right now and it's still great!
  • Place ice in the bottom of your glasses, add your Mojito Mix to the glass, and top off with Club Soda!
